Scotiabank Charity Challenge at the Calgary Race Weekend
Thanks to Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally runners, walkers and supporters for successfully organizing, launching and completing our first Scotiabank Charity Challenge at The Calgary Race Weekend! We raced to support our charitable work improving nutrition, education and health care in South India and for disaster relief worldwinde.
Our fundraising goal was $8,001.00. 9 race participants were supported by
30 generous donors, many of whom supported multiple participants.
Together we beat our goal and raised $8,208.50 which will be donated to our programs this year.
Here’s what racers said:
“The Calgary Marathon was my first running event in many years. Hats off to Cathy for collecting such an enthusiastic group of participants who believe in the cause and who have experienced it first hand. The atmosphere at the Grounds reminded me of a festive event, extremely well organized, friendly, and all about the fun of raising money to help the less fortunate in Canada and around the world.
“I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to participate in this years Charity Run in Calgary. Even though I had a broken bone in one foot and tendinosis in the other foot I was able to complete the 5K course with friends by my side. Wow, so much love for an awesome cause. The energy and joy created that day, from all the participants and organizers, was palpable. I can not wait to get involved next year!
We’re racing again in the 2020 Calgary Charity Marathon! Contact Cathy at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
