We’re constantly looking towards the future through the trees we donate. Our trees support our goal of reforestation and afforestation of indigenous trees in Tamil Nadu, South India. At the core of our endeavor is a commitment to forest regeneration, sustainable agriculture, social empowerment, education and environmental harmony.

We take pride in our diverse tree giving programs, enhancing the natural beauty of our communities while fostering an eco-friendly environment.

Our impact doesn’t stop there. We aim to create a sustainable ecosystem that benefits local communities by growing food and nurturing their well-being, one tree at a time.

The registered Charities that we support have created an educational program called Green Sakthi Club to enhance awareness to the next generation.

We’re committed to deepening the relationship between people and nature and mitigating climate change. Our goal is to ensure that the trees we give are planted directly and efficiently to provide a greener India. The environmental programs we support are self-determined by the Green Sakthi Group who responds to the needs of the local communities they support.

We have supplied over 200,000 trees and bushes as well as planting and irrigation materials.

When we give trees, indirectly many low income households will received skills-based training and income support through our programs. Also Indirectly, students are being trained as they nurture and plant the trees that we give.

MISSION

Our Mission is to donate trees, bushes and supplies to restore tropical Indian ecosystems and deepen the relationship between people and nature. Your gift of just C$200 provides twenty 6 – 8′ indigenous trees which will be planted through the local initiatives of our Registered Charity Colleagues in India. Help us supply trees and bushes and support local Indian reforestation initiatives!

PROGRAM

Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally has donated almost 200 thousand trees to support local planting initiatives and restore forests in India. We support one of India’s leading visionary Green Organizations called Green Sakthi by donating trees, bushes and equipment to help rebuild forests and restore the ecological balance. Green Sakthi has been a key participant with our reforestation successes with over 30 years of experience. So far, Green Sakthi has donated and planted over 2 million indigenous trees to completely transform the area into a cooler area with shade and increased rainfall.

AN OPTIMAL ENVIRONMENT

EFFECTS

Where mountains and plains devoid of trees once stood, through Canadians Sharing and Green Sakthi – now thriving tropical forests grow. This extraordinary project indirectly creates training and jobs for local workers, creates greater biodiversity and gives us the opportunity to do our part to control climate change. Through our Environment Campaign we plant trees and inspire children and adults around the world to connect and care for nature – through environmental education and hands on experience in India.

We’re all volunteers with no paid staff at Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally. Your gift will be matched and invested directly and promptly to support India’s environment.

*Donations made to a total aggregate of C$5000 through this program will be matched until Dec 31, 2025

Training The Next Generation

Over the years, we have found that when children experience nature for themselves, they cultivate connection, joy, fun, wonder and care. These are powerful experiences with lasting effects, often transcending the prescriptive approach of text books and homework about environmental matters. We believe that this raw and deep experience with nature ensures our best chance of nurturing adults that will care and commit to the longevity of our planet from the heart.

Green Sakthi Club is a school educational program all about hands-on green education. It is open to Sri Narayani Vidyalaya School Students from grades 5 to 8, Tree planting, veggie harvesting, tree maintenance, drawing nature, picking up rubbish – you name it! Anything and everything that creates awareness for the health of our beautiful planet and gets our hands in soil is exactly what Green Sakthi club is all about. We have already had the pleasure of educating over 6000 students to date!

Canadians Sharing Locally + Globally provides medical, nutritional, educational, disaster relief and environmental outreach in India. We also provide worldwide disaster relief. As an entirely volunteer-orientated organization with no employees, every donation is invested efficiently and directly into our impactful environmental programs.
