International Rare Disease Day

Rare Disease Day is the globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease. This day raises awareness of the over 7,000 rare diseases that impact over 300 million people globally. It is observed on February 28 and February 29 during leap years (the rarest day of the year)! Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally supports patients and health care workers with monetary donations for medical supplies and purchasing medical equipment for hospitals to improve healthcare outcomes for communities in need.
